About Trudy
Trudy Pannell earned a B.S. in Marketing from the William P. Carey school of Business at Arizona State University, and pursued a career in advertising and sales promotion. When Trudy’s firstborn finished kindergarten, she decided to home-school him so he could better cultivate his talents and interests under her care. As he entered his teen years, his subjects became more advanced and some required interaction with a group of peers, so Trudy started a local Challenge program with Classical Conversations, a weekly program for teens that fosters presentation skills, discussion, and debate. In 2007 she became a licensed instructor for 7th and 8th graders. This continued over the years, with Trudy teaching subjects in nearly every grade that followed, through her youngest child’s high school graduation. The result is an instructor you can trust, with 15 years of teaching experience, in subjects ranging from pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, and pre-calculus; to lab sciences such as chemistry and biology; from American, British and World literature & composition, to Latin, formal logic, mock trial and policy debate.
